To Whom It May Concern;
My name is Anjeanette “Joyce” Bachert. I am interested in the Instructional Technologist position advertised on your website.
I believe my work and educational experiences make me the perfect candidate for this position. I am currently working on a Masters in Educational Technology, and I taught middle and high school students for nineteen years and held office manager positions for five years.
As a teacher, I learned content development and technology skills. As an office manager, I managed the planning and coordination of multiple large-scale events and conferences concurrently. I also developed the “soft skills” that are needed to excel in an instructional technology position including:
collaborating with colleagues and all stakeholders,
leading students, volunteers, and employees, and
communicating orally and in writing to diverse audiences.
In addition to teaching in a face-to-face classroom, I have developed content for e-learning software and platforms, and I used them for online and blended learning. I have developed self-paced, online courses for teachers using the Pedagogically Effective Online Instructional Model.
In developing course materials for my learners, I have used Screencast-O-Matic to record lessons and DoodleMaker, and Doodly to create instructional videos. I have lightly edited the videos and added voice overs to them. Other multi-media abilities that I have developed include:
using web-based conferencing (Zoom and Google Meet),
using learning management systems (Schoology, Canvas, Blackboard, Google Classroom),
using productivity software (Microsoft Office, Google),
writing instructional documents,
creating Google Sites and a blog,
editing websites using WYSIWYG editors,
building mass email templates and writing the text, and
creating closed captions for videos.
I believe I would be an asset to your organization because I am hard-working, technologically savvy, organized, and a creative problem-solver with good communication skills.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Joyce Bachert
